Objectifs

The MSc. in International Hospitality Management (IHM) was developed by emlyon
business school and Institut Lyfe and first launched in 2014. Taking place in France and in
the U.S.A., it provides students with a broad view of the industry, knowledge of services
management and specialist know-how as it pertains to the global hospitality industry.
During the student’s time in Lyon, regarded as the capital of French gastronomy, they will
benefit from the traditions of French hospitality with a focus on foodservice management.
Paris, the birthplace of the modern hotel industry, provides a focus on hotel management
against the backdrop of French aestheticism and savoir vivre.
Time spent in Las Vegas will complement the student experience through exposure to the
excellence of the efficacy of American management practice (with a special look at the
integrative resort management), and will focus on management of international groups,
asset management and consulting.
The teaching methods, providing a balance between theory, analysis, creativity, and
practical projects, offer the student a comprehensive learning experience. Some courses
will be fully online, some will be fully face-to-face in classrooms, and finally some courses
will be hybrid, mixing digital activities and face-to-face lessons. All the teaching methods
are summarized in the syllabus provided on the platforms of the two schools.
The internship period allows the student to capitalize on the program’s network of industry
experts and gain the tangible work experience future employers look for when hiring
managers.
This program will prepare the student fully for a management career in the international
hospitality industry ensuring that graduates take their place among the next generation of
global hospitality leaders!
Graduating from the MSc. in International Hospitality Management program will grant you
120 ECTS credits. You will earn these credits through modules and pedagogical activities
which may be subject to change during the academic year. Any changes would not impact
the acquisition of targeted skills nor the ECTS credits granted and therefore would not
entitle you to reduced tuition fees. Changes may occur due to circumstances over and
beyond our control, or, in order to enhance the learning experience with us.
